Approach to Medication Management

Dr. Lavie takes a careful, thoughtful approach to medication management using evidence-based practices. She believes in using the least amount of medication necessary to address the issue at hand and focuses on achieving sustainable, long-term mental health.

Dr. Lavie emphasizes a holistic approach that incorporates other non-pharmacological strategies, such as exercise, nutrition, sleep hygiene, and social support. She believes that medications are most effective when combined with lifestyle changes and therapeutic practices that address the whole person.

Approach to Psychotherapy

Dr. Lavie offers a range of therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy. These evidence-based therapies allow her to help clients address deep-seated emotional challenges, build new coping strategies, and navigate unhealthy thought patterns or behaviors in a trauma-informed approach.

A key part of therapy with Dr. Lavie involves helping individuals examine their values and explore how those values align, or don't align, with their current life choices, relationships, and goals. By focusing on personal values, she helps patients understand what truly matters to them, which in turn helps create a more intentional and purposeful life.
