About me
Dr. Karin Lavie is a dedicated psychiatrist serving individuals aged 18 and older in the Bay Area, offering virtual care through telepsychiatry. She provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy, with a focus on personalized care. After completing her medical and psychiatry training in Chicago, Dr. Lavie moved to San Francisco to complete a fellowship in addiction psychiatry at UCSF and make the Bay Area her home.
Dr. Lavie is committed to creating personalized, holistic treatment plans that consider all the factors affecting your mental health—whether physical, emotional, or social—and works with you to find the best approach for your needs. She offers a range of treatment options, including medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. She believes in a collaborative process, where patients are active participants in their care, making decisions together that are evidence-based, safe, and aligned with each individual’s goals and experiences. You are the expert on your own life, and Dr. Lavie values your insights to ensure that your treatment is suited to what works best for you.
